Howdy, I'm
Alex York
Senior Content Manager and Growth Marketer
What's my story?
With nearly a decade of B2B SaaS experience, I’ve developed into a seasoned content manager skilled in SEO, content management, optimization, A/B testing, performance tracking, distribution, and lead generation. I have a proven track record of generating high organic traffic and quality leads by bridging the gap between SEO and content marketing. After 15 years in Chicago, I took my Midwestern roots to Austin, Texas where I enjoy honky tonk and spending time with my wife and daughter. Other things you may or may not want to know include:
- Listed as a top content marketer by TopRankBlog
- Reached 1 million monthly organic blog visitors at two B2B companies
- Award-winning poet and published author
- Former English adjunct instructor at Roosevelt University
- Former MLB featured columnist at Bleacher Report
- 13+ golf handicap (all swing tips welcome)
- Supporter of historically bad sports teams
If we're getting personal...
Nothing brings me more joy than my daughter’s hugs, drawings, singing, and unintelligible rants. I’m lucky to spend each day with her and my amazingly talented wife, founder of Her-Scout, a recruiting firm dedicated to female founders. Beyond my awesome fam, I’m passionate about all things growth and content marketing.

ClickUp, ICP Playbooks
This playbook was created to target our core marketing ICP—specifically within event marketing—with an action-oriented resource, backed by subject matter experts. The goal was to provide a highly digestible playbook while providing a clear outcome to a specific challenge. These resources were primarily used in cold-lead emails and achieved roughly a 6-10% conversion in the first month.
The State of Productivity Report
Teamwork, Industry Report
After directly working with our data team to access 7+ million customer tasks from Teamwork's platform, I analyzed the data to find productivity trends by each customer ICP. This uncovered insights into when teams were most productive by "start" and "complete" dates across each task. After writing the report, I led our first major marketing campaign based on a single asset, which became our highest MQL-driving campaign.
The State of Consumer Trust in Health & Beauty Shoppers
PowerReviews, Industry Segment Survey
In this report, I developed and launched a consumer survey of 2,000+ health and beauty shoppers to uncover the influence of product ratings and reviews. With the consumer survey data, I saw a major trend in consumer trust, which helped me write the report and detail shoppers' sentiments. The goal was to target health and beauty businesses on the importance of syndicated reviews and how to gain consumers' trust.
The Best Times to Post on Social Media
Sprout Social, 10X Blog
The goal of this blog was to 10X the content to stand out in organic search for a highly competitive keyword. At the time, nearly all top-ranking blogs used the same 2 to 3 (outdated) reports. I worked directly with our data science team to pull data from the platform—showing exactly when Sprout Social's customers saw the most social media engagement. I worked with our design team to illustrate the data (by industry segment) in detailed heatmaps. The result was Sprout's highest-grossing blog. It accounted for $25K+ MRR (first touch) and 30K+ organic visitors—ultimately changing the SERP landscape for this term. Even Twitter copied our heatmap format for its business partners, which is pretty flattering.
5 Habits of Successful Social Media Managers
Sprout Social, Guide
This was a simple ToFu guide used in email drip and nurture sequences to help convert free trial users. The guide ranked well in organic search and became a top-performing gated guide.

Praise for The Vanity House
“This trilogy of ghosts claims, ‘No one will remember / their names,’ but that is a lie. We will remember. We will always remember. We will know their names, even in the blood-light, even in the trees. We will wait and we will hold these names in the Vanity House & ‘everyone will clap.’ At the end of it, York’s couplets have unlocked the ghost-poem, spilling us forward into the ether.”
